How Immos works, how to use it day to day, and what to do when something needs undoing.
Immos is an immutable Linux desktop. The operating system is a read-only image, your files and apps live separately, and updates replace the whole image at once instead of patching it in place. That one decision explains most of what follows.
New here? Start with what immutable means for the idea, or go straight to install Immos to get it running.
Getting started
Install Immos, understand the first boot, and find your way around the desktop.
Core concepts
The four ideas the rest of the system is built on: images, slots, rollback, atomicity.
Everyday use
Software, updates, storage and hardware — the things you actually do with the machine.
Advanced
The command line, local configuration, building your own image, and the current limits.
For organizations
Immos for more than one machine: join an Active Directory domain, or enrol a household or small business into managed mode.
