Downloads are coming soon

Immos is not published for download yet. The images exist and the update path runs end to end, but the public download server is not open. When the first public release lands, it appears here: stable and testing channels, installer and raw images, signed checksums included.

What Immos is

Immos is an immutable Linux desktop: a read-only system image carrying the KDE Plasma desktop, with applications from Flathub and updates that arrive as one signed whole. An update is written to the system slot you are not running from, verified, and booted; if it never reaches a working desktop, the machine rolls back to the previous image on its own. Nobody has to be at the keyboard for any of it. The core concepts explain the mechanism, and snapshots and rollback shows what a failed update looks like from the outside.

What you can do today

Read the docs. They cover everything from the first boot to the update system, the command line, and how managed fleets work.

Follow the roadmap. The graphical installer, Secure Boot and delta updates are next, roughly in that order — and the trade-offs that were chosen deliberately are listed there too.

Build your own image. The distribution is built in the open: the design documents, the build pipeline and the issue tracker all live in the repository, and building your own image walks through producing a working image from source.

When public downloads open, both channels appear on this page, and the release is announced in the news.
